The Leon A. Wurl Service Center is a one story Public Works and Parks maintenance facility located on an approximately 16.6 acre. The facility is designed to house maintenance personnel, equipment and materials for the Public Works and Parks Departments; and includes an approximately 8,500 sq. ft. office building with two attached maintenance bays, an approximately 4-acre storage yard, and associated accessory structures.

As a testament to the dedication former Town Administrator Leon A. Wurl demonstrated to the Town of Erie, the Board of Trustees approved the naming of the Public Works/Parks Maintenance Facility the “Leon A. Wurl Service Center.” Mr. Wurl served as Town Administrator from Oct. 10, 1994 until Jan. 30, 1998. Mr. Wurl was responsible for many significant achievements during his tenure in Erie, including the paving of streets in historic downtown and the Airpark subdivision, the construction of the Water Treatment Facility and the South Wastewater Treatment Facility, and a renovation of Town Hall.
