Notice from Wildlife Services & CPW
The Town of Erie Police Department has been notified that the USDA APHIS Wildlife Services in conjunction with Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) will be increasing their efforts for coyote trapping beginning tomorrow morning, January 27, 2018, in the area north of Creekside and Red Hawk Elementary.
As a reminder, all dogs in the Town of Erie must be on leash per Erie Municipal Code 6-7-3:
C. Restraint And Control: No owner or keeper shall allow his dog to "run at large", as that term is defined in this chapter. Every owner or keeper of a dog shall keep such dog exclusively upon his own premises; provided that such dog may be off such premises if it is under the control of a competent person who is able to control the dog, and restrained by a leash not exceeding fifteen feet (15') in length and in a manner as to not have access to any passerby. Any owner or keeper with a dog at a designated dog park shall be governed by the provisions at section 6-7-9, "Dog Parks", of this chapter. (Ord. 07-2016, 2-23-2016)
The Erie Police Department asks that all dog owners follow this ordinance, and pay close attention if they are in this area over the weekend. We appreciate your cooperation as we deal with this sensitive issue.
