2017 Active Adult Volunteer of the Year
Erie Parks & Recreation is happy to announce that the 2017 Active Adult volunteer of the year is Bill Gippe! Bill Gippe (rhymes with hip) has volunteered with the Erie Active Adults program since 2014, logging over 115 hours during Thursday lunches and special events. Besides performing exemplary service, he makes himself available to seniors who have questions about legal issues.
Bill and his wife Crystal live in Erie and most recently brought a beautiful baby girl into the world, naming her Margot. Bill serves many community organizations, including Erie Police Department’s Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS), Erie’s Restorative Justice Program, Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) - Voices for Children in Boulder, Erie’s Planning Commission, Erie’s Finance Corporation, Erie Chamber of Commerce’s Scholarship Committee, Town of Erie’s Country Christmas and Parade of Lights, and of course, the Erie Community Center’s Active Adults Volunteer Program!
Bill works for the non-profit Rocky Mountain Legal Center (RMLC) in Lafayette.
During the Active Adult’s lunch on Thursday, December 7th, Bill was recognized for his commitment and dedication to the Erie community and the Erie Community Center's Active Adults Volunteer Program.
Congratulations and thank you for your service!
