Environmental Leader
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment awarded the Town the Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) Bronze Award. This statewide program recognizes organizations in Colorado that go beyond compliance with environmental regulations by advancing sustainability.

The Town was selected, in part, for the photo voltaic electricity generator at the service center, the hydrosonic solar at the community center,  the variable frequency drive at the reclamation facility, and the LED upgrade in Town facilities.

Of the 172 members of the ELP, the Town is one of five municipalities earmarked as 'transformational leaders for voluntarily reducing impacts on the environment'. Public Works Director Todd Fessenden and Marketing and Communications Manager Amber Luttrell accepted the award at a ceremony on October 1.
