Plug and Abandon
Crestone has notified the Town of Erie of a removal 'plug and abandon' operation on the 'Wiggett 4-0-13' well site (north of Jay Road 22 and west of East County Line Road).
In the next month, a truck mounted service rig will move in and rig up around the well sites. The crew will pull tubing out of the well, set a permanent plug in the wellbore, and cement the well per Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) regulations. Once set, the cement casing will be cut-off below surface and a metal plate will be welded into place. Sites will be reclaimed per Crestone's agreement with the surface owner which may include the removal of surface equipment.
Equipment expected on location during this time includes a truck mounted service rig, various pieces of heavy equipment, temporary water tanks, trucks and worker pickup trucks. All access to this site is limited to the designated access route.
This activity is expected to take about 5 days to complete.
