Honoring Our Veterans

The Town of Erie would like residents to join together in honoring our veterans this Sunday, November 11th, by participating in the “Bells of Peace: A World War One Remembrance”.
The nationwide program is designed to honor American men and women who served 100 years ago during World War I, especially the 116,516 who died. The war ended by an armistice agreement between the warring countries at 11 a.m. on November 11, 1918.

This event encourages citizens and organizations across the nation to toll bells in their communities 21 times at 11 a.m. local time on November 11th to mark this centennial of the armistice that brought an end to hostilities in what Americans fervently hoped had been “the war to end all wars” – World War I.

For more information on the program please visit the Bells of Peace of The American Legion website.

Anyone can participate using the Bell of Peace Participation App on their smart phone - download wherever you get your apps.
