Activity Notice from Crestone Peak Resources
Crestone Peak Resources has notified the Town of Erie that they will soon begin the task of plugging and abandoning the nearby Vessels Minerals 19-15 location. This site is north of Ortega Court and East of Lasnik Street..
According to Crestone, beginning the week of September 17, a truck mounted service rig will move in and rig up. The crew will pull tubing out of the well, set a permanent plug in the wellbore, and cement the well per Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) regulations. Once set, the cement casing will be cut-off below surface and a metal plate will be welded into place. Once this is done, the rig will move off of the location. All production facility equipment and the flowlines connected to this site will be removed as well.
Equipment expected on location during this time includes a truck mounted service rig, various pieces of heavy equipment, a crane, temporary water tanks, trucks and worker pickup trucks. A traffic management plan will be in place during this activity. All access to this site is limited to the designated access route, which is Bonnell Avenue to Lasnik Street and into the well site.
Work hours will be 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. There will be sound mitigation on location during this time and emission controls will also be in place during plugging operations. This activity is expected to take about six weeks to complete. This includes plugging and abandoning the well (approximately five days); removing all surface equipment and flow lines (approximately two weeks); and interim reclamation of the site (approximately three weeks) which includes grading, re-contouring and re-seeding the location. Reclamation is done per Crestone’s agreement with the surface owner.
