Activity Notice from Crestone Peak Resources
Crestone Peak Resources has notified the Town of Erie that they will soon begin the task of plugging and abandoning the nearby Cosslett 31-22 oil and natural gas well site. This location is south of Erie Parkway and west of I-25.
According to Crestone, during this activity, a truck mounted service rig will move in and rig up. A crew will pull tubing out of the well, set permanent plugs in the wellbore and cement the well per Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) regulations. Once set, the wellbore will be cut-off below surface and a metal plate will be welded into place.
Equipment expected on location during this time includes a truck mounted service rig, various pieces of heavy equipment, water tanks, trucks and worker pickup trucks.
All work will be done during the day and all access to this site is limited to the designated access road that is off of Erie Parkway.
This activity should take approximately five days to complete. This site is part of the surface location for the upcoming Cosslett well site so reclamation won’t begin right away.
