Pedestrian Access Improvements for
Erie Parkway & Meadow View Parkway
On Thursday, November 16th, the Town of Erie met with representatives from Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) and Meadowlark K-8 to discuss transportation concerns in the area around the new Meadowlark K-8 school located in the Flatirons Meadows development. During this meeting, the Town of Erie proposed a 50% cost-share for improvements at the intersection of Erie Parkway and Meadow View Parkway. Although different pedestrian treatment options were discussed in the meeting, the final intersection treatment will be determined through further evaluation and design.
The Town of Erie and BVSD reached a preliminary agreement to the cost-share proposal. The Town of Erie will begin the process of evaluating and designing the improvements and oversee the installation and work to be done.
The Town of Erie is pleased to work with Meadowlark K-8 and BVSD to address safety concerns and add an additional safe route for those needing to cross Erie Parkway to access the school site.
During the October 10, 2017 Regular Board of Trustee’s meeting Trustee Charles proposed that the Town of Erie should offer a 50% cost-share with Boulder Valley School District, to improve pedestrian access to the intersection of Erie Parkway and Meadow View Parkway. All Trustees in attendance of that meeting agreed that the Town should begin this conversation.
