Plug & Abandon Courtesy Notice from Anadarko Petroleum Corporation
The Town of Erie has been notified by Anadarko that they will begin to plug and abandon an existing oil and natural gas well that is located east of County Road 7 and south of Highway 52. The work is scheduled to begin on or around August 31, 2017 and will take approximately one to tow weeks to complete.
During this operation the well will be plugged, the associated surface equipment removed, and the land reclaimed to match the existing landscape. A work-over rig and other heavy equipment will be needed to conduct this operation. In an effort to reduce the inconvenience to the surrounding residents, crews will be working on site Monday through Friday during daylight hours only. Residents may notice a slight increase in traffic and are likely to hear the activity during operations.
