Plug & Abandon Courtesy Notice
from Crestone Peak Resources
Crestone Peak Resources has notified the Town of Erie that they will soon begin the task of plugging and abandoning the Vessels Minerals E1 oil and natural gas well site. This location is north of Austin Avenue and west of Mason Street.
According to Crestone, starting this week, sound walls will be installed around most of the well site, and plug and abandon activity will likely start the week of September 10, 2017.
During this activity, a truck mounted service rig will move in and rig up. Equipment expected on location during this time includes a truck mounted service rig, crane, various pieces of heavy equipment, water tanks, trucks and worker pickup trucks. All surface equipment that supports these wells will be removed. The area around the plugged and abandoned wellsite will be reclaimed per Crestone’s agreement with the surface owner.
During this activity, neighbors can expect to see an increase in traffic to the location. All access is limited to the designated access road. Crestone traffic will enter to the east of the location off of the corner of Mason Street and Austin Avenue and will avoid driving in front of Aspen Ridge Preparatory School if at all possible. In addition, Crestone will limit traffic to and from the site during drop off and pick up times at the school Monday through Friday, 6:30-8:30 a.m. and 2:00-4:00 p.m. All work will be done during the day, Monday through Saturday.
According to Crestone, this activity should last approximately eight weeks. Seeding the location is weather dependent and will likely be done 30-60 days after all the equipment has been removed.
