Courtesy Notice from Crestone Peak Resources


The Town of Erie has been notified by Crestone that they will be in and around Erie over the next several weeks conducting maintenance, as well as plugging and abandoning oil and gas wells on sites that are no longer needed given the development of the Waste Connections and Pratt locations.

The locations that the plug and abandon activity will take place at include:


Vessels Minerals E Unit 2, 19-10 and 19-16 (all on the same well site)
  • Well site is south of Crimson Place, on the south side of the Grandview Neighborhood.
  • Maintenance on the wells, including replacing the wellheads, will start the week of August 21. This work will require a workover rig. Activity should take about three days to complete.
  • This well site will be permanently plugged and abandoned by the end of 2017. Additional notice will be sent before that work begins. 
Barb Ltd B Unit 1
  • Well site is south west of Columbine Court.
  • Maintenance on the well at this site includes replacing the wellhead. This work will require a workover rig. Activity should take about one day to complete.
  • All access is restricted to the designated access road. 
Barb Ltd 30-10
  • Well site is south of Vista Parkway and west of N Parkdale Circle.
  • Maintenance on the well at this site includes replacing the wellhead. This work will require a workover rig. Activity should take about one day to complete.
  • All access is restricted to the designated access road. 
Edward P Costigan 1
  • Well site is west of County Road 5 and south of Erie Parkway.
  • Maintenance on a well at this site includes replacing the wellhead. This work will require a workover rig. Activity should take about one day to complete.
  • All access is restricted to the designated access road. 
Vessels Minerals 19-15
  • Well site is north of Ortega Court and east of Lasnik Street. 
  • Maintenance on the well at this site includes replacing the wellhead. This work will require a workover rig. Activity should take about one day to complete.
  • All access is restricted to the designated access road. 
  • Crestone does plan to plug and abandon this site in the coming months. As soon as an approximate date is available, it will be shared with nearby homeowners. 
Vessels Minerals E Unit 1, 14-19, 13-19, 24-19, 4-6-19, 23-19 and 2-4-19 (all wells on the well site)
  • Well site is west of Mason Court and north of Austin Avenue.
  • Plugging and abandoning all seven wells on this location. Wellheads and all associated equipment will be removed and the well site will be reclaimed per the agreement with the surface owner. 
  • Activity is expected to start the week of August 28. It will take about six weeks to complete. 
  • Additional notification will be sent prior to activity starting.
