Missing Teenager Update: Juvenile Suspect Charged with Harboring a Minor
As the investigation continued into the whereabouts of Patience Leigh Thompson, the Erie Police Department cited one juvenile male late this morning for his assistance in helping Patience run away. The juvenile male was issued a juvenile referral (Promise to Appear) for the charge of Harboring a Minor. No further details are available at this time.
The Erie Police would like to thank the community and the following agencies for their assistance: Front Range Rescue Dogs, Erie Middle School officials, St. Vrain Valley School District officials, Boulder Valley School District officials and the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children.
A tremendous amount of resources were utilized in locating the missing person and the Erie Police Department is grateful to everyone who played a part in reuniting Patience with her family.
BACKGROUND: At approximately 7:00 am on Monday, April 10, 2017, Patience Leigh Thompson - the Erie teenager reported missing has been found and has been returned to the custody of her mother.
On April 8, 2017 at approximately 1:09 am, Erie Police Officers responded to the 600 block of Moffat Street in Historic Downtown in reference to a missing juvenile. Christina Huff reported her 16-year old daughter, Patience Leigh Thompson, as a run away from their home. Patience was last seen at 11:45 pm by Patience’s sister and was discovered missing at approximately 1:00 am by her mother.
