Board of Trustees Seeking
to Fill Planning Commission Vacancy
The Town of Erie Board of Trustees is seeking citizens who are interested in volunteering their time in public service to the community by serving on The Town of Erie Planning Commission. Interested citizens can pick-up an application in the Town Clerk’s Office, located on the second floor of Town Hall, 645 Holbrook St., or can complete an application online. More information about the Planning Commission and when meetings are held can be found here. To be considered for an appointment, applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday December 30, 2016.
One vacancy exists on the Planning Commission, with a term set to expire in April of 2020. The Town needs individuals who are interested in serving, particularly persons who are committed to well-planned economic development, smart growth, good quality design, and preserving our environmental heritage.
The primary responsibility of the Planning Commission is to serve the Board of Trustees in an advisory capacity on a wide variety of topics and issues including proposed subdivisions, zone changes, and ordinance amendments.
The seven (7) members of the Planning Commission are appointed by the Board of Trustees to rotating four-year terms, which end upon appointment/reappointment by the Board, between April and June of even numbered years.
Interviews are tentatively scheduled for early January 2017 with the Board of Trustees making an appointment to the Planning Commission shortly thereafter.
