Board Approves Master Plans for Colliers Hill
& Star Meadows Neighborhood Parks
The Board approved the Site Master Plan for Colliers Hill Neighborhood Park #1. In February of this year the Board authorized the Town to enter into an agreement with Community Development Group to share design costs for the Colliers Hill Neighborhood Park #1. Since then, Staff has been working with Stanley Consultants, a local landscape architectural firm, to generate a concept and complete a master plan. This master plan creates a site that will benefit the residents of Erie in their pursuit for both passive and active recreational activities. This plan is currently being reviewed by citizens to solicit their input.
In a separate action, the Board approved the Site Master Plan for Star Meadows Park in Flatiron Meadows. In October 2015, the Board of Trustees approved resolution authorizing Town of Erie to apply for grant from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) to assist with master plan and construction documents for the Flatiron Meadows Neighborhood Park site. As reported in a staff memo in April 2016 the Town of Erie received the requested $75,000 from GOCO to move project forward. Staff is pleased to be able to share this draft master plan with the Board at this time.
Staff has been working with Design Concepts, local Landscape Architect, to generate a unique concept and complete a master plan. Work has been in collaboration with Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) and has created a comprehensive framework for the neighborhood park, trail connections, and the grounds of the new BVSD school site. This master plan is unique to Erie and creates a site that will benefit the residents of Erie in their pursuit for both passive and active recreational activities. This plan is currently being reviewed by citizens to solicit their input.
