Board Approves “Substantial Compliance” for Allan Farms Annexation – The Board approved a resolution of Substantial Compliance for the Allan Farms Annexation Petition. Allan Farms is approximately 79 acres in size and is located at the northeast corner of 119th Street and Jasper Road. The approval of the resolution does two things:
Establishes that the Board of Trustees finds the Annexation Petition to be in substantial compliance with the laws of the State of Colorado;
Sets a Public Hearing date and time of September 27, 2016, at 6:30 p.m., in the Erie Town Hall, 645 Holbrook, Erie, CO 80516.
BACKGROUND: In January of this year, the Town completed the purchase of Allan Farms. This land was purchased with funds from Trails and Natural Areas Fund with the intent for it to remain Agricultural/Open Space. In April of this year, the Board approved an agreement for the lease of Allan Farms for agricultural purposes. The tenants will lease the farmable portion of the property with the intent to raise alfalfa for their horse farm.
