Understanding Snow Removal in Erie

It is the time of year when we will see varying amounts of snow in our community. The Town of Erie Public Works Department Operation & Maintenance Division is ready with a snow control plan to keep streets safe and accessible during periods of snow and ice. The goal is to provide snow and ice control services for the safe through-travel of residents and commuters. By Town Ordinance, property owners are responsible for clearing their sidewalks of snow within 24 hours following each snowstorm. Snow should not be shoveled into the streets, but rather the snow should be placed back on the resident's property (to provide moisture for landscaping and reduce runoff). For more details on this and other important snow/ice information visit www.erieco.gov/SnowRemoval.

Manufacturers in Erie Invited to Collaborate

Manufacturers in the region – specifically in the Boulder County and Broomfield areas – are invited to help  launch a newly formed sector partnership. Businesses will have the opportunity to share best practices, express ongoing challenges, and connect with industry leaders to create solutions that address workforce development, zoning, supply chain, public policy, and more. This is the first sector for this partnership, but four others are planned for the future. The other four include Professional Services, Healthcare, Food/Beverage, and IT/Technology – so be sure to look out for future events!

The kickoff event for the Manufacturing Sector is Nov. 30 from 4-5:30 p.m. at BI Incorporated (6265 Gunbarrel Avenue, Boulder). There are no membership fees, agendas are planned and led by manufacturers, and all participating manufacturers have a voice. Visit the webpage to learn more and register.

  • Utility Work on County Line Road – Utility construction work as part of the Four Corners development at Town Center will require lane closures around County Line Road and Erie Parkway. This closure will affect southbound and northbound traffic on County Line Road, just south of Erie Parkway beginning Dec. 5 through Dec. 15 (day and night). Southbound traffic will be shifted to the east along County Line Road.

Road work is weather-dependent, and timelines may shift. Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians should always be aware and use caution when in and around work zones. Whenever possible, please avoid the construction areas.
