Green Business Program Gets a FellowThe Town of Erie Economic Development department has been working with many partners, including the Erie Chamber, on the Green Business Program. This program is a way for businesses to share your successes in conserving energy, gather tips from other businesses and experts about being a green business, and more. Leisha Talley has been hired as a fellow with the Town’s Economic Development department and will be spending the summer helping advance the Green Business Program, revitalization grant incentives, and other initiatives that help support Erie businesses and residents. She will be spending 400 hours digging deep into these programs to help get the very most for Erie businesses. Leisha has extensive experience that qualifies her to help with this task. She helped design and construct a local makerspace laboratory, started a business creating on-site educational programming for regional schools that integrated biomimetic invention principles, and worked as the director of fundraising for a nonprofit. She also has experience producing community theater, musical events, and maker fairs. She is a current student in the Colorado State University Impact MBA program in Corporate Sustainability focusing on greenhouse gas accounting, financial risk assessment, sustainability index ratings, and cleantech.
