Town Administrator's Weekly Update
Water Conservation

Water Conservation Month

Water continues to be one of Colorado’s most precious, and one of the world’s most finite, resources. This month, Erie is exploring the ways we can help conserve water and why it is so important.

Erie’s Water Plan, developed in 2021, includes a variety of water efficiency and conservation measures. Programs were evaluated to determine their compatibility with Erie’s objectives and water supply system, and the ability to achieve the target water savings. Our water savings goal, established in the 2021 update, is to achieve a 10% water savings in 10 years relative to baseline projected demands; this is equivalent to 115 gallons per capita per day.

Erie Parks and Recreation

July is Parks and Recreation Month

Since 1985, people in the United States have celebrated July as Park and Recreation Month, a program of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). The goal is to raise awareness of the essential services that park and recreation professionals provide to communities across the U.S.

Erie offers more than 86 miles of trails, 1,250 acres of native areas, 400+ acres of open space and as June 14, the state-of-the-art Erie Community Center has had more than 76,200 individuals visit in 2022. Join us as we celebrate how the Town of Erie is stronger, more vibrant, and more resilient because of parks and recreation.

Follow Erie Parks & Recreation on Facebook to participate in the annual Medallion Hunt that begins on Monday, July 18.

Golf Carts in Erie

The Erie Police Department has noted an uptick in questions, concerns, and confusion as 'other vehicles’ have increased in popularity. To help answer questions and educate residents who use these various motor vehicles, the police department is doing an outreach campaign over the coming weeks.

In the latest excerpt, they explain the Town Ordinance as it relates to golf carts.
