UPDATE on the I-33 Flowline

KP Kauffman discovered product had daylighted from a flowline on Feb. 23 and made its initial report to the COGCC, Weld County Office of Emergency Management, and the landowner within 24 hours of discovery.

The line was isolated and the leak was stopped immediately after discovery on Feb. 23. No active leaking is occurring at this time. Currently the excavation and removal of contaminated soil is taking place.

KPK will provide additional details of the current investigation and root cause on the Supplemental Form 19 which will be submitted to the COGCC and then shared with the Town of Erie. KPK anticipates the impacts to be limited to soil in the immediate area of the spill and that no residents of Erie face any impacts or health risks from this incident.
