Snow Removal Reminders & Tips

It is the time of year for heavier snow! The Town of Erie Public Works Operation & Maintenance Division is ready with a snow control plan to keep streets safe and accessible during periods of snow and ice. The goal is to provide snow and ice control services for the safe through-travel of our residents and commuters. By Town Ordinance, property owners are responsible for clearing their sidewalks of snow within 24 hours following each snowstorm. Snow should not be shoveled into the streets, but rather the snow should be placed back on the resident's property. For more details on this and other important snow/ice information visit www.erieco.gov/SnowRemoval.

Erie’s Got Heart Campaign 2022

Erie’s Got Heart is back this year, but this time with a different purpose. In support of neighboring communities affected by the Marshall Fire, we’d like to share the love with them this Valentine’s Day. Pick up a heart from the Erie Community Center (or print your own) and write/draw something to let our neighbors know that we are thinking of them. Snap a picture of your heart and email it to specialevents@erieco.gov. All submissions receive a goodie bag!

Deadline for submissions is Tuesday, Feb. 8. Find the template to print a heart online at www.erieco.gov/1952/Eries-Got-Heart.

Erie Community Park Update

Work has begun on the Pump House on the corner of Erie Parkway and Powers Street. This is the last structure of the Erie Community Park (ECP) project and will house the pump system that feeds irrigation to the ECC, ballpark, and the library. The Post building received its treatment of board and batten, which will be painted the same color as the rest of the buildings at ECP. The Peak Shelter is finished, complete with heated concrete! The heat mats are installed from the bottom of the stairs all the way up to the Peak Shelter and are activated via a ground sensor when moisture is detected. No more trudging up the hill in the snow! Follow along at www.erieco.us/ECP.
