Recruitment Open for Advisory Boards and Commissions
The Town of Erie is seeking volunteers who would like to voice their opinions and help guide decisions on matters ranging from trees in the community, so sustainability actions, to long-range planning. Beginning Friday, Jan. 14 at 9 a.m., members of the public are able to view vacancies and apply online for positions on Town advisory boards and commissions.
The Town is recruiting residents for 33 open positions. Advisory boards and commissions provide recommendations to the Board of Trustees and give residents the opportunity to have their voices heard within local government. The Town staff, in turn, also benefits from this resident input.
Any residents who apply for Planning Commission positions will go through an interview process that will take place on May 3 at 6:30 p.m. with the Board of Trustees and should expect to begin serving in their position by the middle of May.
All other board and commissions positions will be considered by the specific board or commission and recommendations will then be considered for approval by the Board of Trustees at the May 10 Regular Meeting.
To view descriptions and requirements for the various boards and commissions or to fill out an application, visit the Advisory Boards and Commissions Vacancies page of the website. The deadline to submit applications for the recruitment session is Friday, Feb. 25 at 5 p.m.
