Residents Can Provide Input about Home Rule in Community Survey
The Town of Erie will be conducting an important online and telephone community survey regarding a proposed change to its form of government. The Board of Trustees is exploring the process of possibly changing the Town's local government from Statutory Rule to Home Rule. The process includes extensive community participation with opportunities for community members to share input. Your opinion matters, and we want to hear from you!
The survey begins Monday, Jan. 10, in the afternoon and closes on the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 19.
There are several ways for Erie residents to participate in the survey:
- Visiting EngageErie at www.erieco.us/home-rule-charter and clicking on the "Home Rule Survey" button. This link will be made available at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 10.
- Some residents will receive a text message on their cell phones or other electronic devices on the afternoon of Monday, Jan.10, inviting them to take participate in the survey. The text will have the Erie Town logo at the top – this is how you can be sure it is a legitimate message.
- Some Erie residents will receive an email from the Town, just like this one, with the survey link prominently displayed.
- Some Erie residents will receive a phone call the week of Jan. 17 from a call center asking them to participate in the survey.
