WCR5 Construction Updates | Aug. 26
This is an update for the work happening near Erie High School and Soaring Heights Elementary School.
Traffic control - construction zones and closed lanes - north of the southern entrance to the EHS should be removed by end of day Wednesday. Paint striping to reestablish the turn lanes between the high school entrances will be done overnight.
Unfortunately, during construction it was discovered that there is ground water and irrigation water flowing into the trench where work is wrapping up. Crews are placing concrete for a manhole base and backfill and pave the area on Thursday. This means there will be some lane shifts and cones remaining for a small area between Erie Parkway and the southern entrance to EHS until this last paving can be completed on Thursday.
Please continue to use caution as this final phase of the work wraps up and we thank everyone for your flexibility and patience while working through difficult weather and supply delays.
Please remember to visit www.erieco.gov/ConeZones for all details on construction work in Erie and sign up for notifications.
