Thank you Mile High Corps

Mile High Youth Corps

This summer, the Parks & Recreation Department partnered with the Mile High Youth Corps to provide valuable work experience for local teenagers while assisting the Parks Division with projects. In July, the Forestry & Horticulture workgroup and the Mile High Youth Corps worked collaboratively on a month-long project to thin Wise Woods. This project aims to ensure this unique resource is healthy and sustainable for the coming years. Dead, unhealthy, and hazardous trees were felled, chipped, and hauled out of the wooded parcel—staff plan on adding additional tree and shrub species to the understory to enhance the area. A special thank you to the Mile High Youth Corps for their partnership and assistance this summer!
