July 3rd Fireworks Show

The Town of Erie proudly presents the return of the July 3^rd Fireworks show! This year, the fireworks display will launch from the rooftop of the Erie Community Center at the Erie Community Park campus, located at 450 Powers Street.

This year will only include a fireworks display; no other activities such as food vendors or bounce houses are planned. The Erie Community Center parking lot will open at 7 p.m. The fireworks show will begin after dark; approximately at 9:30 p.m. Remember if you’re packing food or drinks as a picnic, no glass is allowed in Erie parks. Also, please bring a bag to pack out your recyclables as only landfill bins will be available at the park.

This July 3^rd, as we celebrate our nation's Independence, please remember to be good neighbors to one another! If you plan to attend the event, please do not block any driveways and observe all posted speed limits when traveling to and from the show. Also, check out the map for available nearby parking lots. As a reminder, Coal Creek Center, located on the southwest of Erie Parkway and County Line Rd, is privately owned, and public parking is not available. Thanks for being a good neighbor Erie!

Win a FREE Hot Air Balloon Ride!

If you walk or ride your bike to the fireworks show on July 3^rd, you can be entered to win a free hot air balloon ride, courtesy of Fair Winds Balloon Rides! Raffle instructions will be posted on-site at the Erie Community Park. Check out the map of trails and available nearby parking lots to walk or bike to the event, and don't forget your headlamps for the trip home.

Downtown Walking Tour

The Town is exploring ways to revamp infrastructure in Downtown Erie to meet the future needs of this growing area. Aided by input and ideas from those who live, work and play in Downtown, we'll answer the questions of "what's next?" for Downtown Erie. Join the Economic Development Team on a series of walking tours (in-person or virtually) of the specific areas and topics up for consideration (nine stops). RSVP for a time today!

Pops Art Contest

Discover Weld is accepting artistic portrayals of Pops The Triceratops until 5 p.m. on July 2, 2021. Entries may be painted, drawn, sculpted, or built – all art media are welcome and submitted by all ages and must feature a Triceratops. For more information, visit www.discoverweld.com.

Powers Street Closure

On Tuesday, July 6, a contractor will require a full closure of Powers Street north of Erie Parkway to the Library's parking lot. The work should be completed by July 14. The west sidewalk of Powers Street will also be closed to pedestrians. For detours and access information, please visit the news item.

Pawsitivity Patrol

While out and about in Erie, you may spot the 'Pawsitivity Leash Patrol' educating dog owners on the importance of keeping dogs on a leash. Is your dog on a leash? If so, you might receive a 'High Paw' and a special thank you treat! Send a photo of your dog in the community following the rules, with their leash on, and you will be eligible for a chance to win the 'Bark Box' filled with homemade dog treats, toys, a $50 value in dog washes, and much more!
