Safety Profile

What if you could provide life-saving information to responders before an emergency? Now you can! The Erie Police Department is partnering with Smart911, a free service that allows residents to create a safety profile to aid first responders. The voluntary tool stores private information such as medical conditions, specials needs, photos, pet data, and more in a private, secure database only accessible to law enforcement if the user dials 911. Dispatchers relay preloaded information to the responding officer to serve you better!
Without Smart911, dispatchers are only aware of the phone number used and minimal location data. For a more detailed, rapid response, create a safety profile and provide rescue notes to first responders:

Match addresses and people to your cell phone. Include their names and pictures.
Gate access codes, hidden driveways, floor plans, and other logistical information.
Pets in the home and service animal information.
Critical health information, allergies, medications, disabilities.

Outdoor Summer Movie

Grab blankets, friends, and family, and head over to Erie Community Park on June 5 to enjoy the first FREE Movie in the Park, featuring Trolls World Tour. Mosquito Mitigation

This summer, the Town of Erie is again contracting with VDCI to help residents ‘fight the bite' during mosquito season. This partnership helps keep active residents outside this summer while mitigating exposure to mosquitos' potential dangers. Celebrate Green Businesses and HOAs

More than a dozen businesses and homeowner associations in Erie have completed the Green Certification! Program leaders will award the recipients on Thursday, June 17, in the first Green Business & HOA Certification Ceremony. The ceremony will be outside the Erie Chamber (235 Wells Street) following the Farmers' Market. The accomplishment follows excellent strides in the last year to achieve greater sustainability. The Town has complemented these efforts with grants for equipment, resources to replace grass with xeriscape and upgrade to high-efficiency sprinkler nozzles, and general COVID relief. EMS Week

This week marks the 46th annual National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week. In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate emergency practitioners and their vital work in communities. This year's theme is 'This Is EMS: Caring for Our Communities'.
