Strider Bike Derby

Strider Bike Derby

Registration is open for the Strider Bike Derby to be held this Saturday, April 24! Kids will love racing down the backstretch and coming to the finish line in this fun race designed to build confidence and bike skills. Participants may take as many turns as they can handle in their allotted session time, and all will receive a swag bag. In true Kentucky Derby fashion, formal attire and derby hats are encouraged (must bring a strider bike and helmet).

Thank you to the 5th-grade students from Aspen Ridge Preparatory School, Black Rock Elementary, Erie Elementary, Red Hawk Elementary, and Vista Ridge Academy for submitting poster entries this year! The Arbor Day Poster Contest is put on annually by the Colorado Tree Coalition to increase appreciation and awareness for the roles trees play in our lives. View all poster submissions in a video slideshow and register for the virtual Arbor Day Celebration scheduled for this Saturday, April 24 (featuring Q&A with a Forester!) online here.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month – a time to help people across the country understand that safe, stable, and nurturing relationships are necessary to ensure children thrive. Learn more about the proactive approach that Blue Sky Bridge and the Erie Police Department are taking to help families through the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases in the Pinwheel Garden Campaign.

Parks and Recreation staff teams are working diligently to create a safe and fun fireworks experience for the community. Additional event details will be made available in late May, but know that this year, the celebration will be held near the Erie Community Center on Saturday, July 3, 2021. Additional details will be added soon to the Fireworks Show webpage.


Sales and Use Tax

Sale and Use Tax Lookup

The GIS department is continually improving various map offerings to businesses and residents alike. You can use the new Tax Lookup map to find sales and use tax rates for locations within Erie in either Boulder or Weld counties. Scroll to the Planning and Development layer within the tool and search for rates by specific address or use the map to navigate rates in a specific location.

Disc Golf Tournament

Coal Creek Classic Disc Golf Tournament

The Erie Chamber is proudly presenting the Coal Creek Classic Disc Golf Tournament. Registration is open until May 7, and the tournament is played May 21 through May 31 at your leisure. Proceeds benefit the Dave Stone College Scholarship. For scoring, division information, and more, visit the Erie Chamber of Commerce webpage.

Level Blue

Level Blue

Effective Friday, April 16, Boulder County moved into Level Blue on the State’s COVID-19 Dial with modifications for 30 days. According to Boulder County, as of April 15, metrics show case incidences are at 134.5 per 100,000 residents and positivity rates at 4.5%, allowing the county to move to a less restrictive level. For details, visit Boulder County's COVID-19 webpage.

Addresses in the Special Flood Hazard Area will be receiving the annual Flood Hazard Information Official notice in the mail this month from the Mile High Flood District. In Erie, these properties are close to Coal Creek. To find your home’s flood risk, visit www.mhfd.org/floodmap and enter your address.
