The Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) has released the 2050 Metro Vision Regional Transportation Plan. The plan sets the vision for the region's multimodal system and guides investment in the projects and programs to achieve that vision. The Town of Erie Board of Trustees, during their regularly scheduled Board meeting on February 9, hosted a Status Update on Boulder County's proposed composting facility and the Board asked to hear from Town residents who have comments, questions or concerns about this Boulder County proposal. As a result of public comments at this meeting, the Board of Trustees formally asked the Boulder County Board of County Commissioners to withdraw plans for a proposed compost facility. Town staff is inviting the public to read the Water Efficiency and Drought Management plans beginning March 15 and submit input by April 15, 2021. The Water Efficiency Plan includes updates to water supply, population growth, leadership practices, procurement of supplies, cost improvements, and proactive planning measures. The plan also explains the Town's commitment to achieving a 10 percent savings in 10 years ('10 in 10' goal). The Drought Management Plan is a proactive response plan to address drought – a natural part of Colorado's climate. Boulder County's Hazardous Materials Management Facility (HMMF) accepts all alkaline, rechargeable, and button cell batteries for recycling and proper disposal (lead acid batteries (car batteries), lithium-ion (Li-ion), lithium primary, lithium polymer (Li-PO), nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd), and nickel hydride (Ni-MH) batteries). Remember, all Erie residents can use the HMMF! More information is available at www.boco.org/batteries.

  • Sturdy scraper and snow brush

  • Tire chains and tow strap
  • Jumper cables
  • Flares and reflectors to signal for help and warn other motorists
  • Battery or crank-powered radio to listen to emergency broadcasts

  • Bag of sand/kitty litter for traction
