Boulder Compost Facility

Boulder County Proposed
Compost Facility

The Town of Erie Board of Trustees, during their regularly scheduled Board meeting on Feb. 9, hosted a discussion on topics related to the proposed Boulder County Compost Facility. The Board heard comments from roughly 50 Erie residents about the proposed project but did not hold any official vote. The Board did instruct staff to continue more in-depth research about the proposed facility and about the opposition point of view on the project. There will be continued conversations and opportunities for additional public comment as more information is available.

Radon Action Month

Radon Action Month

Mayor Carroll and the Board of Trustees designated February as Radon Action Month in Erie. Radon is the 2nd leading cause of lung cancer. The EPA recommends mitigating radon levels in homes that are confirmed to be 4 pCi/L or higher. Radon levels less than 4 pCi/L still pose a risk and can usually be reduced further.  View the Public Health Radon Reduction Roadmap for more information on reducing exposure to radon.
