Level Orange: High Risk

Boulder County Public Health announced that the county, including the Town of Erie, moved to Safer at Home Level Orange: High Risk on January 4. What does this mean for residents and businesses? Check out Colorado's Dial Framework to learn more. Stop the spread and stay out of Red by continuing to follow the 4 Ws: wear a mask, wash your hands, watch your distance, and wait on gatherings.
COVID Vaccine

While We Wait: COVID-19 Vaccine

According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment website, "the initial supply of the COVID-19 vaccine will be very limited for several months." In the meantime, we can still do our part to prevent the spread; wear a face mask, wash hands frequently, and stay at least 6 feet away from others. The vaccine distribution plan, phases, and more are available at www.covid19.colorado.gov/vaccine.

Boulder County Public Health has initiated a notification system for residents to be alerted to when they can receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

Unemployment Scam

Unemployment Scam

In the last six weeks, the Erie Police Department received 46 reports of identity theft using the state's unemployment system. The criminals steal identities and make false unemployment claims. The victims may receive a loaded U.S. Bank ReliaCard in the mail. The Department of Labor recommends that anyone who has received a card for unemployment benefits that did not apply should destroy the card, report to www.usbankreliacard.com, and report the fraud with the Colorado Department of Labor. If you believe you are a victim of identity theft or fraud, the Erie Police Department recommends you complete a report of identity theft or fraud on Erie's report a fraud webpage.

National Night Out Award

Town Receives National Award

The National Association of Town Watch presented the Erie Police Department with an award recognizing the outstanding participation in 'America's Night Out Against Crime' on August 4, 2020. Due to the pandemic, rather than hosting a traditional cook-out, the Police Department organized a 'Police Popsicle Parade' event. Along the parade route, officers, firefighters, emergency medical service, and waste management personnel met briefly with residents at nine local parks and maintained 6 feet of social distance while wearing masks.
