Water Supply Project

The Northern Integrated Supply Project (NISP) will supply 15 Northern Front Range water providers (including Erie) with new, reliable water supplies. Two reservoirs (Glade Reservoir northwest of Fort Collins and Galeton Reservoir northeast of Greeley), five pump plants, pipelines, and other improvements will help the 15 participating communities meet future water needs. Discover more in the January utility bill insert or at www.northernwater.org/nisp.
Employee of the Year - Erie Police Department

Erie Police Employee of the Year

Shortly before 2020, the Erie Police Department promoted 17-year veteran Brendan Beggan to the rank of sergeant. In his first full year as a sergeant, he spearheaded orientation training for more than 20 officers, implemented new software for efficiency, and had the most self-initiated contacts of any other sergeant. For his efforts in these projects, along with his positive attitude, proactive approach, and willingness to alter his schedule for the Department's needs, Sergeant Beggan was named Employee of the Year for 2020 in a virtual awards ceremony. Congratulations Sergeant Beggan!

Portable Fireplace Safety

Portable Fireplace Safety

There is nothing like sitting by an open fire on a cold night. Indoor and outdoor portable ethanol burning fireplaces have become more prevalent in recent years. While these products provide ambiance and a little warmth, keep in mind the fuel, device, and open flame can be dangerous. Visit the Ethanol Fuel Smarts flyer from Mountain View Fire Rescue for fireplace safety tips.
