Town Administrator September 25, 2020November General ElectionActive registered Colorado voters are automatically sent November 3 General Election ballots in the mail beginning October 9. Here are some important things to keep in mind: - Ballot Information is available at www.GoVoteColorado.gov. Register to vote or verify your ballot mailing address, and consider adding an email address.
- Sign up at either http://www.WeldVotes.com or www.BoulderCountyVotes.org to track your mail ballot using Ballot Track a free service that will notify you when your ballot is printed, mailed, and received for processing.
- October 26 is the last day to register and still be mailed a ballot. It is also the last day to request a replacement mail ballot be sent to you. After this date, you can still register and vote or request a replacement ballot, but it must be done in-person. There is no registration deadline.
- October 26 is also the last recommended day to return your ballot by mail. Otherwise, use a ballot drop box to return your ballot.
- All mail ballots are due by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3.

Traffic Advisory - Vista ParkwayPortions of Vista Parkway has been closed at County Line Road and Parkdale Circle, for paving. The contractor prepared the road, and applied an asphalt overlay. The roadway will be accessible with one lane of travel. For more see the news release.

Bike Priority on Light RailRTD has started piloting priority seating areas on light rail vehicles for passengers with bicycles! Vacancy - Director of East Boulder RTD DistrictInterested Candidates for the RTD District 1 (east Boulder) Director should submit a letter of interest to the Boulder County Commissioners before midnight, Monday, September 28, 2020 via email to mkrezek@bouldercounty.org. The current District I Director, Judy Lubow, is term-limited. The Boulder County Commissioners will announce a selection and provide that name to the RTD before November 2, 2020.

Northern Integrated Supply ProjectThe Town of Erie was featured in an article by Colorado Public Radio for its role in the Northern Integrated Supply Project (NISP). The NISP project is explained, and Paul Zilis, the Town’s water attorney was interviewed and explains the need for the project. Public Works Director Todd Fessenden said, “We continue to push forward to ensure water supplies for our community, in an environmentally responsible manner.”

Teen Substance AbuseSchool Resource Officer Cara Thoen is presenting, ‘What Parents Need to Know About Teen Use of Drugs, Alcohol, and Vaping on Thursday, September 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the Erie Police Department. Officer Thoen will provide training and resources to combat substance use in teens. Registration is required.

Change Leadership for Racial JusticeMore than 60 members of Town Staff elected to participate in a 3 week seminar geared to local government leaders on the topic of racial justice. InitiativeOne Leadership Institute facilitated the training with a goal of ‘agents of positive change’. In the initial discussion, a facilitator commended a staff member, “You just modeled being vulnerable, engaging your curiosity, and peeling away the societal layers of racism. Worthy work!”
