Connection to Downtown
The Engineering Division is reviewing three scenarios to connect Colliers Hill to downtown; a pedestrian/bicycle only connection, and two vehicle connections with pedestrian and bicycle access. The vehicle connection options are either at the existing Cheesman Coal Creek Crossing, or across Coal Creek to Cheesman with a new bridge connection. Staff is packaging the scenarios, with detailed cost estimates, for residents to consider in upcoming engagement opportunities.
Process Improvement

Process Improvement

In March, the Planning Division contracted with Government Performance Solutions to apply their 5-step SOLVE approach to the land development processes. Through data analysis, feedback, and work sessions, short, mid, and long-term improvements will be piloted and measured for successful performance. The overall goal is to streamline processes and improve customer service.

Staff negotiated additional Slow the Flow sprinkler assessments for the Town! This popular program books quickly! Coupled with direct installation, additional water efficiency rebates, and a Smart Control Clock or Rain Sensor, these programs will make you a water efficiency superstar! Fire District Merger

Fire Districts Merger

Mountain View Fire Rescue and Rocky Mountain Fire have agreed to merge effective January 1, 2021 and will operate as one under Mountain View Fire Rescue. In preparation for the merger, both districts are hosting Virtual Town Hall meetings on August 18, 19, 20. Erie Community Park Concept

Erie Community Park

Parks and Recreation staff are completing the design for the final phase of the 40-acre Erie Community Park. Amenities include a bike pump track, sledding hill, nature trails, age separated playgrounds, a tournament facility, and outdoor reading rooms! ECI Construction Management reports that construction will begin in 2021. Take a quick look at the flyover of our master plan here.

Beginning July 30, census enumerators will begin visiting households that have not yet responded to the 2020 Census. This operation is known as Non-Response Follow Up (NRFU). If you have concerns about the legitimacy of a census employee or have concerns about fraud visit the Census 2020 Avoiding Fraud webpage.
