The Parks and Recreation Department is thrilled to announce the Erie Community Center re-opened on Monday, June 15th at 5 a.m.! Information regarding how to access the Erie Community Center, along with important changes due to guidelines and regulations surrounding COVID, are available on the website. If you completed the Blackout Erie Activity Bingo card while we were closed, be sure to stop by when we re-open to redeem your prize.

Community Conversation - George Floyd's Death - A Call to Action

We encourage you to join us in a community conversation to explore what we can do, individually and as a community, to help here in Erie, and in all aspects of our lives to stop the pervasive, long-standing and devastating injustice of discrimination against people of color. The first event in this conversation will take place virtually Thursday evening, June 11th, at 7:00 p.m. For information see this link.

The Erie Police Department and the Town of Erie are partnering with a group of Erie neighbors to hold a ‘Being Better Neighbors: Solidarity Against Racial Injustice’ march this Saturday, June 13th.

4th of July Porch Party Kits

Registration for 4th of July Porch Party Kits opens on Wednesday, June 10th at 7 a.m.!  Visit the website to secure yours. Kits includes decorations, water balloons, a festive craft, glow sticks and more! Be on the lookout for a schedule of suggested fun ideas to enjoy safely at home, then cap off the night by listening to the National Anthem on our Facebook page.

500 Block of Briggs

500 Block of Briggs Closure

Beginning Monday, June 8th the 500 block of Briggs Street is closed to support restaurants’
patio expansions through October 31, 2020. The Erie Farmers’ Market’s layout will vary slightly on the 600 block of Briggs for Thursday, June 11. For more information email economicdevelopment@erieco.gov.

Playgrounds Are Open

The State of Colorado permitted Town-owned playgrounds to open Friday under its Safer At Home in the Vast Outdoors guidelines. Playground goers should maintain 6 feet physical distancing from others and wash hands or use hand sanitizer. The maximum number of kids playing at one time is 10. Please limit time to allow others to play. Do not visit playgrounds if you or your kids are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
