Temporary Closure - Municipal Courts

Effective March 17, 2020: The Town of Erie is taking the appropriate measures to ensure the health and well-being of its employees and citizens. To that end, the Erie Municipal Court is closed to the public effective immediately until further notice. Cases will still be handled in a fair, just and impartial manner during this time with the same high standards of accountability, integrity and equity. Please continue to check back on this web page for updated information regarding the status of the Court’s closure and handling of cases.

Even though the Court will be closed to the public, Court and staff will remain open for processing cases by phone, mail, email, or other electronic means. Please call or email the Court Clerks to ask questions, resolve your case or have it continued. You may email the Municipal Court Clerks at reckert@erieco.gov  or mcarranco@erieco.gov anytime or call  (303) 926-2851. Please be sure your message includes your name, date of birth, telephone number, mailing address, email address and case or citation number, and your current court date.

TRAFFIC AND PARKING CASES
For those of you with traffic infractions and an early settlement/payment discount offer on your citation, you may accept the offer and pay the citation without court costs if you pay online or by phone at (303) 926-2851 before your scheduled court date. If instead you wish to postpone your case and have not already been notified of a new court date, you may contact the Court Clerk.

ALL OTHER CASES
If your case is not a traffic or parking ticket and you are not in custody, please email the Court Clerk to have your case continued to another date when the court is reopened to the public or to find out your other options.

MOTIONS, FILINGS, COURT REQUESTS, PROOF OF CLASS OR COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS
