Erie Experiences Rash of Window Smashing Vehicle Trespasses

Handgun Reported Stolen

Erie, CO. – At approximately 2 a.m. this morning, January 17, 2020, suspects smashed vehicle windows in search of valuables in the Blue Sky complex at Vista Ridge. Erie Police has received more than 18 reports of vehicle windows damaged and trespassed in the complex located north of Baseline and west of Vista Parkway. In one case, the victim reports a handgun stolen from inside the locked vehicle. In the majority of the cases, victims reported minimal items of value stolen, as most vehicles were void of valuables. The investigation is ongoing.
