Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent 2023 Community Survey! Sharing your thoughts and opinions is important to supporting a healthy democracy and government by the people. Our expert consultants from Polco and the National Research Center have analyzed the results and presented their findings to the Board of Trustees on Tuesday, June 13 during the Board’s Regular Meeting.
We ended with 904 respondents to the random sample survey and 355 respondents to the open participation survey. Some highlights from the results include:
- Safety is a strength in Erie with 96% of respondents feeling Very or Somewhat safe in their neighborhoods during the day.
- Roughly 3 in 4 residents have a growing concern over the affordability of housing in Erie.
- The top three priorities for the Town identified by respondents are: Maintaining a fiscally responsible budget in municipal government; Carefully managing growth and development in Erie; Protecting natural resources, open spaces, and trails.
