Coal Creek Park is the oldest park in our system, platted in 1885, and has become the de facto hub of Downtown Erie yet has not grown along with the community. Join Parks & Recreation Department staff as we officially break ground on the Coal Creek Park Redevelopment Project on Friday, Dec. 17 at noon. New amenities included in this redevelopment include an event promenade, multi-use lawn, two shade structures, a restroom building, expanded trail connectivity, nature-themed playground, a splash pad in the summer, and a winter ice rink, along with 163 newly planted trees.
