Erie Police Respond to Armed Robbery

Erie Police Officers responded today at 10:01 a.m. to Starbucks, in the 3300 block of Arapahoe Road, on report of an armed robbery in the drive-thru lane. An unidentified dark-skinned white or Hispanic male, approximately 20 – 30 years of age, wearing a hoodie and aviator-style sunglasses, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the window clerk. The male was driving a white sedan. No one was injured.

A few minutes later, the same male crashed the white sedan on Isabelle just west of HWY 287. A Good Samaritan picked up the male and gave him a ride to the area of HWY 287/Niwot Road. From there, the male car-jacked a vehicle and was last seen eastbound on Hwy 52. The suspect stole a white, Ford pick-up truck with a Colorado license plate number: YTQ-737. Please contact law enforcement if you see the truck. The associated Erie Police Department case report number for the armed robbery is: 18-993. The associated Boulder County Sheriff’s Office case report number for the carjacking is: 18-2656.

Erie Police, along with the Boulder County Sheriff’s, are following up on a number of leads. No further information will be released from the Erie Police Department.
