Annual Spring and Fall Clean-Up Days

The Department of Public Works partners with various vendors to assist residents in disposing of unwanted household items, electronics, medication, building materials, metal-type items, and yard waste. Event details are subject to change. For more information email or call 303-926-2872. Events are generally hosted in May and September each year.

2021 Spring Cleanup

The event this year will be two parts consisting of a voucher program (click the link to register) as well as a traditional one-day event for recycling other items:

  • May 1 - May 31

    The voucher program allows you to drop off one free load at the landfill on the date of your choice during the month of May. Registration is required. Click the Landfill Drop-Off button below to register and read more details. 

Once you go to the Eventbrite site, click the Select a Date button, enter your information, then you will receive your voucher via email or you can print.

  • May 1 ONLY - COMPLETED

    Drop off for free metal recycling, free prescription mail-in envelopes, free disposal of all electronics – (except televisions). Televisions will be charged a $20 flat fee payable directly to the vendor at the time of drop off. Click the Electronic & Metal Recycling button below for more information.

Landfill Drop-off Details

For 2021, residents can drop off one free load of items at the Front Range Landfill between May 1 - May 31. Registration for drop off is required, please register by noon the day before your drop-off day.

You will be redirected to the Eventbrite site, click Select a Date, enter your information, then you will receive a voucher via email.

A full list of items accepted at the landfill is below, including large household items as well as tree limbs or other yard waste. Visit the Front Range Landfill website for rates on disposal for additional loads or disposal outside this event.

Landfill is located at 1830 Weld County Road 5, hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday and 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

Cleanup Event Details

  • Accepted Items at Front Range Landfill
  • This event allows for ONE FREE LOAD to drop off. One load is defined as a single pickup truck or trailer the size of a pickup truck.
  • Truck with a trailer attached is considered TWO loads and will be charged accordingly.
  • Loads must be covered.
  • Loads must be level with bed of the truck or trailer.
  • Construction materials such as roofing shingles, concrete, and framing materials could be subject to charges.
  • Hazardous materials such as refrigerators, car batteries, tires, electronics and paint are not accepted.
  • All participants must use a safety vest at the landfill when outside of their vehicle.
  • Appliances will NOT be accepted at this event. Please see details about the May 1 only event for ways to recycle/dispose of appliances.
