Annual Spring and Fall Clean-Up Days
Each year the Town of Erie Department of Public Works partners with various vendors to assist residents in disposing of unwanted household items, electronics, medication, building materials, metal type items, and yard waste. Event details are subject to change.
2020 Clean-Up Events
Saturday, July 25, 2020
The July 25th event will be a free day for the landfill only.
September 19, 2020
Changed from September 12, 2020, for all vendors.
ARC will have a collection center set up at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center, located at 150 Bonnell Avenue from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All donations must be clean and in working order. NEW: All smaller items for ARC donations must in a bag (trash bags accepted) or box at the time of drop off.

3R Technology Solutions will have a collection center set up at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center, located at 150 Bonnell Avenue from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Donations may be working or not.
Adding Machines, All-in-One PCs, Cameras, CD Players, Cell Phones, Copiers, CRT Monitors, Desktop Phones, DVD – VCRs, DVRs, Fax Machines, Flat Panel Monitors, Game Consoles, Gaming, Systems, Hard Drives, Hubs, Keyboards, Laptops, Mice, Modems, MP3 Players, Network Switches, Optical Drives, PCs, Phone Systems, Printers, Remote Controls Routers, Servers, Software – Games, Stereos – Speakers, Surge Protectors, Toner, Two-way Radios, Typewriters, UPS, Kitchen appliances (microwaves, toasters, blenders, coffee machines and George Foreman type grills)
Metal-type, Non-working Items
The Town of Erie’s Public Works Department will also have the disposal of metal-type non-working items at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center, located at 150 Bonnell Avenue, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
AC Units, BBQs, Bikes, Car Batteries, Car Parts, Engine Blocks, Hot Water Heaters, Lawn Mowers, Misc. Computer Parts, Refrigerators / Freezers, Screen Doors, Small Appliances, Stoves, Transmissions, Vacuum Cleaners, Washer / Dryers, Window Frames
TakeAway Medication Recovery System area will have 100 free envelopes (first come, first served) for mailing unused and unwanted household medications. These envelopes are available at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center, located at 150 Bonnell Avenue from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while supplies last. Residents who are unable to pick up a free envelope on at the event may purchase one at the Police Station anytime during normal business hours. Yard Waste and Unwanted Items
The Front Range Landfill, located at 1830 Weld County Road 5 in Erie, will accept large household items and yard waste. Hours of operation will be from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Residents may dispose of any large household items as well as tree limbs or other yard waste FREE OF CHARGE. LIMIT ONE load per household. Residents must show either a Town of Erie utility bill or driver’s license with an Erie address as proof of residency. Reminder, as of July 1, 2013, electronic disposal is no longer allowed through trash and landfill services.
Please note the following:
- All loads must be covered.
- All loads must be level with the bed of the Truck and/or Trailer.
- Construction materials such as roofing shingles, concrete, and framing materials could be subject to charges at the discretion of the landfill.
- Items that will not be accepted include hazardous materials such as refrigerators, car batteries, tires, and paint.
Document Shredding (FALL ONLY)
The Town of Erie’s Public Works Department is collaborating with Shred-It to provide free document shredding service of outdated files or confidential paperwork at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center, located at 150 Bonnell Avenue from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m (or until the truck is full, whichever comes first). A limit of two banker box sized loads per resident.
These services are not restricted to the Town of Erie Clean-Up event and may be utilized year-round.
The Town of Erie contracts with Boulder County and Weld County to provide our citizens a place to dispose of household hazardous waste. Erie residents, regardless of which county they live in, can use Boulder County’s facilities - Weld County only by Weld County residents. Brush and Limb Drop Off
The Town of Erie Parks Division will not accept tree limbs. Please take all tree limbs, branches and yard debris directly to the Front Range Landfill.
