Clean-Up Events
NEXT EVENT: May 13, 2023 at the Leon A Wurl Service Center 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
The Department of Public Works partners with various vendors to assist residents in disposing of unwanted household items, electronics, medication, building materials, metal-type items, and yard waste at core clean-up events twice a year. Event details are subject to change (paper shredding only offered during the Fall event). Free Landfill Drop-Off - Spring 2023
Residents can dispose one free load of unwanted items at the landfill between May 8 and May 13. No voucher required, just proof of residency with either a government ID showing an Erie address or a utility bill at an Erie residence that matches the name on your government ID.

- Is shredding available?

Shredding service is available during the fall clean-up event only from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. (or until the truck is full) at LAWS Service Center (150 Bonnell). A limit of two banker box sized loads per resident.
- Are TVs accepted?

TVs are accepted at the LAW Service Center (150 Bonnell Ave) from 8 am - 2 pm only. The disposal will cost a flat fee of $20 per TV, payable at the time of drop off directly to the vendor.
- Can I put my items on the curb for pick up?

No. Any items that will not fit in your regular waste bins should be dropped off at an appropriate location. All services offered during regular cleanup day events are offered either at the LAW Service Center (150 Bonnell Ave) or the Front Range Landfill.
- Is there a place to dispose of paint?

Paint can be taken to one of the household hazardous waste facilities throughout the year. Click for more information:
- What electronics are accepted at cleanup events?

During the Town's cleanup events, we partner with 3R Technology Solutions. They accept: Adding Machines, All-in-One PCs, Cameras, CD Players, Cell Phones, Copiers, CRT Monitors, Desktop Phones, DVD – VCRs, DVRs, Fax Machines, Flat Panel Monitors, Game Consoles, Gaming, Systems, Hard Drives, Hubs, Keyboards, Laptops, Mice, Modems, MP3 Players, Network Switches, Optical Drives, PCs, Phone Systems, Printers, Remote Controls Routers, Servers, Software – Games, Stereos – Speakers, Surge Protectors, Toner, Two-way Radios, Typewriters, UPS.
The landfill is located at 1830 Weld County Road 5, hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday and 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays (closed on Holidays). Visit the Front Range Landfill website for rates on disposal.
Details for Landfill drop-off:
- Accepted Items at Front Range Landfill
- Truck with a full truck bed and full trailer attached is considered TWO loads and will be charged accordingly.
- Loads must be covered.
- Loads must be level with bed height of the truck or trailer.
- Construction materials such as roofing shingles, concrete, and framing materials could be subject to charges.
- Hazardous materials such as refrigerators, car batteries, tires, electronics (TVs) and paint are not accepted. See tab to the left for Hazardous Waste options.
- All participants must wear a safety vest at the landfill when outside of their vehicle on landfill property. They are available for purchase on-site if needed.
- Appliances are not accepted.

Free events for Landfill drop-off are available in the spring and fall. Spring 2023 free drop-off dates are May 8-13.

TVs are accepted for a flat fee of $20 per TV payable directly to the vendor at the time of drop off.
Year-round Electronic Disposal
Outside of the Town-sponsored clean-up events, please visit the State's website which lists locations to drop off electronic items: CDPHE E-Waste Disposal.
Year-round Hazardous Waste Disposal
The Town of Erie contracts with Boulder County and Weld County to provide residents a place to dispose of household hazardous waste.
Hazardous household waste will also be accepted at the Town's Spring Clean-up Event. See what items will be accepted.
Erie residents, regardless of which county they live in, can use Boulder County’s facilities. The Weld County facility may only be used by Erie residents on the Weld County side of town.

Year-round Household Donations
Please see the 'Donate Items for Reuse section of the Town's 'Responsible Waste Solutions' guide for information on donating household goods.
Resource Central will be available at the Spring 2023 Clean-Up Event to collect household materials like DIY building materials, working/functional appliances, etc.
Disposal of mattresses and other bedding will be offered at the Spring Clean-up Event for small fees. See below for more details:

Resident can pay for mattress disposal pickup year-round with A Bedder World Mattress Recycling.
Clean-up Event
TakeAway Medication Recovery System partners with the Town to offer residents materials to mail unused and unwanted household medications. This service will be available at the Clean-up Events on a first-come, first-served basis. Outside of our events, see the Year-round information, below.
Year-round Medication Takeback
Envelopes are available for purchase at the Police Station during normal business hours. View more information about the Town's Medication Take Back Program.
Local law enforcement agencies also regularly hold Drug Takeback Day events at various times throughout the year. Watch your local news source for upcoming events.

Year-round Metal-type Disposal
The Front Range Landfill does not accept most metal-type items for disposal. There are a variety of metal recycling services searchable on the web and the Town of Erie offers metal disposal during spring and fall cleanup events.
Clean-up Event
The Town partners with Shred-It during clean-up events to provide document shredding services of outdated files or confidential paperwork free of charge (two boxes per household). This service is offered during the fall events only. Outside of this time, see the Year-round information, below.

Visit the Shred-It website to find events/services available to residents for document shredding. Or search the web for other companies that may offer similar services.
Year-round Recycling at Recycling Center
The Recycling Center accepts Single-Stream Recycling. Please view the guidelines for which items may be included in your mixed recycling.
The Recycling Center is located at 1000 Briggs Street.
