The Traffic Unit provides education and enforcement of traffic violations in areas of concern by the community, as well as responds to serious crashes and fatalities.

To request traffic enforcement for:

- Failing to observe stop signs,
- Crosswalks, and more...
Please email pdtraffic@erieco.gov.
Other requests for modifying speed limits, placement of stop signs, and crosswalks, etc., should be submitted to the Town Engineer. The best way to submit a service request is through ErieSubmit.
To report a traffic infraction, please call dispatch at 303-441-4444. In an emergency, dial 911.
Officers adherence of the Model Traffic Code of Colorado and the Town of Erie Municipal Code Ordinances.
The Erie Municipal Court adjudicates violations, assigns fines, and reports convictions to the Motor Vehicle Department.
Collisions resulting in property damage may be reported online, to Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles via the 'Submit a Accident Counter Report'.
When a collision advisory is declared, officers do not respond to minor property accidents. Learn more.
Accident reports and officer's notes are provided by the Police Records Unit.
Vehicles that are improperly parked or those that appear to be abandoned may be reported by calling 303-441-4444. For details about junk vehicles, visit the Police Code Enforcement webpage.
