Leaf & Pumpkin Composting Event

Erie residents are invited to recycle leaves, yard waste (and now pumpkins!) for composting each November. Have fun with your leaves, jump on them in piles, or re-use them in bags for Halloween props to help us crush them! Next, bring the leaves in large paper bags that you will keep after emptying your leaves. No bags will be accepted at the event, all leaves will be dumped out of bags. Leaves are collected and used by local farms as a soil amendment and need to be as clean as possible. No commercial landscaping please. The event is available and free to Erie residents! Learn more about the benefits of composting and how to start your own backyard composting operation.
