All Town of Erie utility bills moved to cycle billing beginning in March 2017. Read on for more information about the transition, to find out what cycle you are in and when read dates for your neighborhood are scheduled
In the spring of 2017, the Town of Erie's 7,650 plus water customers saw a change in the delivery of their utility statements as the Town moved to a more efficient cycle billing format. The Town moved from a single, town-wide monthly billing format to a geographic-based format that divides the Town's meter reading and billing into four cycles. What this means is, each week staff conducts meter readings and issues bills for only one customer area. Your location within the town determines your billing cycle (see chart provided). According to Town of Erie Finance Director Steve Felten, the cycle billing format allows for a more consistent, much quicker meter reading process and greatly minimize the risk of errors. "Predictable billing cycles and reliable reporting remains our priority as the Town continues to improve upon service delivery to our utility customers," Felten said.
