The Planning & Development Department consists of three main divisions: Building, Engineering and Planning.
The Building Division is a one-stop shop for individuals planning improvements to their properties. The division reviews construction plans, issues permits, performs inspections, and enforce ordinances that ensure safe buildings and a healthy environment. It also manages the licensing of contractors and trades.
The Engineering Division’s primary mission is to effectively organize, direct, implement and monitor the planning, contracting, designing, and inspecting of all Town and private development projects for and within the Town. Engineering staff also maintains and updates the Geographic Information System (GIS).
The Planning Division is responsible for reviewing all land use development applications from annexations through final plat, setting, noticing and providing staff support for public hearings, and review of development applications.
