Recycling/Trash
The Town of Erie Recycling Center is located next to the Department of Public Works Building at 1149 Telleen Avenue.
We Accept Commingled Containers and Mixed Paper.
COMMINGLED CONTAINERS
The following material may be mixed together in Commingled Container bin:
- GLASS BOTTLES & JARS (all colors)
Please avoid breaking glass.
Remove & recycle metal lids/caps.
NO ceramics, vases, drinking glasses or other glass.
- STEEL/TIN CANS – INCLUDING EMPTY AEROSOL CANS
Pinch the open end closed.
NO plastic caps.
- ALUMINUM CANS & CLEAN ALUMINUM FOIL
Do not crush or flatten cans.
- #1 & #2 PLASTIC BOTTLES & JUGS
Flatten gallon jugs & bottles 1 liter and larger.
NO lids.
NO motor oil bottles.
- #1 PLASTIC SCREW TOP JARS
NO lids.
NO motor oil bottles.
- PAPER MILK/SOY CARTONS/DRINK BOXES
NO straws.
NO Plastic bags.
NO Plastic lids, small plastic vitamin or prescription bottles or film canisters.
NO Plastics other than those listed above.
MIXED PAPER
The following material may be mixed together in Mixed Paper bin:
- MAGAZINES & CATALOGS
- NEWSPAPER & INSERTS
NO paper or plastic bags, strings or boxes.
- OFFICE PAPER & OPENED MAIL
NO neon or fluorescent or dark colored paper, adhesive labels, kraft paper.
- PAPERBOARD
Includes: cereal boxes, gift/shirt boxes, paper egg cartons, paper tubes, 6-pack and 12-pack cartons, soap/facial tissue boxes.
- PHONEBOOKS
NO cardboard or trash.
