Master Plan

The following are the currently adopted master plans for the Town of Erie.  These master plans are used as guidance documents when budgeting and identifying projects needed throughout the Town.

Water Conservation Master Plan (2008)

This Plan provides guidance for effective water conservation while controlling implementational costs.  The Plan evaluates Erie's water demands and supplies, defines goals specific to the conservation program, and evaluates and selects conservation measures/programs for implementation.  This Plan focuses on conservation measures and programs that are compatible with Erie's water supply system, water resources management strategy, and community values.

Transportation Master Plan (2008)

The Erie Transportation Plan outlines the community’s vision and goals for the Town’s future transportation system and its connections to the rest of the Denver metro region. It provides guidance for elected officials and staff in making choices regarding the long-range transportation needs of the community. The Erie Transportation Plan describes the vision and policy framework for Erie’s transportation system, presents the Roadway System Plan and how it was developed, discusses transit services/issues and opportunities, identifies planned bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and proposes a plan for implementation of future transportation improvements.

Non-Potable Water Master Plan (2007)

This Plan provides the information necessary to develop design plans for a non-potable water distribution system.  Information on Erie's service area, water supplies, projected non-potable water demands, and supply availability was used to develop the framework of a non-potable distribution system.  The distribution system layout, a three-phased implementation plan for construction, estimated costs, and discussion of how costs may be allocated are also provided.

Water and Wastewater Master Plan (2006)

This Plan identifies recommendations to effectively serve the Town's short-term and long-term utility needs.  This planning study is another step in the Town's vision to maintain high standards of planning and design to meet the utility needs as identified in the Comp Plan.

Weld County Master Drainage Plan

Rapid development in the Erie Planning Area, including portions of the Town of Erie, Boulder County, and Weld County, has resulted in an immediate need for an outfall system planning study. The Outfall System Plan evaluates the impact of existing and projected future development on flood peaks and presents a preliminary design of the Plan, including stormwater outfall systems which safely convey the projected 100-year flood under future development conditions through the study area. The Outfall Systems Plan, presented in this Preliminary Design Report, was selected by the Erie Board of Trustees at the conclusion of an Alternate Analysis of the study area.

Outfall Systems Plan - Boulder and Weld County

The purpose of the outfall system planning study is to identify alternate methods to convey stormwater within the study area to enhance public health and safety and minimize property damage. The hydrologic study, undertaken as a part of this project, provides public and private entities a comprehensive analysis of existing and proposed percent imperviousness within the study area for catchments of approximately 100 acres. It identifies critical areas of stormwater management and provides an analysis of alternates which may be used as a guideline for addressing water quality degradation and flood peak increases resulting from current and future development anticipated within the study area.

Airport Master Plan (2002)

One of the primary objectives of an Airport Master Plan report is the determination of future requirements for the airport. This Master Plan was developed to respond to changes in demand within the framework of FAA design criteria.

Wastewater Utility Plan

This plan was prepared to address the needs of the wastewater collection and treatment within the Town’s service area. The plan is intended to meet all of the wastewater utility planning requirements of the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) and the North Front Range Water Quality Management Agency (NFRWQPA).
