The Town Clerk's office is responsible for a variety of functions within the Town. These include election administration, records management, licensing and public notification.
The Town Clerk's Office is made up of a multi-talented team, united with the vision to make your administrative local government efficient and user-friendly. We are available to assist the public at large in a variety of different situations.
The Town Clerk's Office is located on the third floor of the Town of Erie Town Hall.

Town Clerk Responsibilities
Board of Trustees Recording Secretary
The Town Clerk's office is responsible for preparing Board of Trustee agendas and packets, recording Board of Trustee meetings, and coordinating the preparation and retention of the official Board of Trustee meeting minutes. The Town Clerk's Office mantains control of the Board of Trustees Chambers.
Election Administration
The Town Clerk coordinates and administers all Town general and special elections. In addition, citizen initiated recalls, initiatives and referendums are submitted to the Town Clerk and verified for sufficiency by the clerk. The Town Clerk's Office also maintains current files on Fair Campaign Practice Act Filings. The Town Clerk also distributes voter registration forms.
Records Management
The Town Clerk is responsible for maintaining all official documents for the Town and for researching and providing copies of official actions of the Town at the request of the public and Town departments. The Erie Municipal Code will be maintained by the clerk's office and updated quarterly through codification supplements.
Licensing
The Town's licensing program provides regulation of liquor licensing, general business, home occupation, circuses, and amusement licenses within the Town. All liquor license transactions are submitted by the Town Clerk's office to the Erie Liquor Licensing Authority for approval or denial. Contractor's licenses should be obtained through the Town of Erie Building Department.
Public Notification
The Town Clerk is responsible for the timely publishing of all legal notices including notice of public hearings, final approval of ordinances, requests for proposals, notice of final settlements, election notices and other applicable notices.
