Downtown Neighborhood Block Party

Block_Party_2017

Erie, you’re invited back to the Downtown Neighborhood Block Parties this summer! These community-building events are centered in the heart of Downtown Erie for all of our residents to enjoy while at the same time promoting local businesses, restaurants and breweries.  The second Block Party will be held on Friday, June 30th! Take a look at the lineup…

  • Band: Sound Rabbit
  • Food: All restaurants open during event! In the Block Party, there will be Italian ice, Hawaiian shaved ice, tacos, sausage sandwiches, empanadas, crepes, hotdogs, and hamburgers available to purchase outside.
  • Drinks: During the Block Parties the Downtown Entertainment District is open. This means restaurant and bar patrons that are within the Common Consumption Area along Briggs Street have the option to purchase an alcoholic drink from one of the five participating establishments in a plastic to-go cup, to take outside and consume during events. The participating establishments include: Echo Brewing, Azteca, 24 Carrot Bistro, Miner’s Tavern and The Old Mine.
  • Activities: Chalk art, hoola hooping, golden egg hunt for prizes, arts and crafts, face painting + more!

It’s our intent for these Block Parties to bring families to Downtown Erie on Friday nights to listen to good music, engage in children’s activities, eat from local restaurants and drink from local breweries. There will be creative and interactive activities for children and adults. And in an effort to encourage you to leave your car at home – we’ve set up a bike parking lot next to the Post Office at the southeast corner of Briggs and Wells.

The Block Parties are hosted by the Town of Erie and organized by Kelly Williams – manager of the Erie Farmers’ Market. We are excited to see you in Historic Downtown Erie this summer!
