Erie Board of Trustees Action Items - May 9, 2017

Board Approves Construction Contract for Star Meadows Park at Flatiron Meadows

 The Board approved a resolution authorizing a contract with Goodland Construction for the Star Meadows Park Construction Project in an amount not to exceed $2,163,987.50. Star Meadows Park is approximately 7 acres in size and is located in the Flatiron Meadows Neighborhood. The park shares a property line with the new Boulder Valley K-8 School. Design influences of the park include education theming and are complimentary to the new school’s amenities and features.

Related: During their April 25, 2017 meeting, the Board of Trustees approved over a half million dollars in contracts for the master planning of four projects, including Coal Creek Park; the Linear Trail Corridor; the final phase of Erie Community Park and the Schofield Farm/Strieby Open Space.


Board Approves Additional Air & Noise Monitoring of Oil & Gas Operations

The Board approved a resolution authorizing a contract with Pinyon Environmental, Inc. for additional monitoring of oil & gas operations in an amount not to exceed $50,000.00.

Background: During their April 25, 2017 meeting, the Board directed staff to obtain an alternate proposal from Pinyon Environmental, Inc. for additional air quality monitoring during the completion phase at both the Pratt and Waste Connection well sites located north of Vista Ridge. The purpose of the monitoring would be to observe from a distance of 500 feet and report on compliance with CDPHE and COGCC rules and regulations. During last night’s meeting, the Board directed staff to contract with Pinyon for additional noise monitoring of the Woolley Becky Sosa well site located in unincorporated Weld County east of County Line Road and north of WCR 10 ½ and the Morgan Hills well site located east of WCR 3 at WCR 12.

Related: During the March 14, 2017 Board of Trustees meeting, the Board approved an agreement with Pinyon Environmental, Inc. to monitor oil & gas operations at the Pratt and Waste Connections well sites in an amount not to exceed $125,000.00.
